Where It All Began

Terence Olenroot discovered his creativity at an early age through drawing and building scale models, mainly focused on racing cars and motorsport. Creativity has always been part of his family — his brother through comic art, and his father through the restoration of classic Italian cars.

At the age of eleven, he received his first 100cc kart. It was far too fast for a beginner, but after countless spins, long days at the circuit, and constant support from his father pushing the kart back onto the track, he quickly learned how to control it. In the years that followed, he competed in Dutch national and Benelux karting championships.

During those years, he raced with several well-known karting manufacturers and chassis brands, including Top Kart, Intrepid and CRG, further deepening his connection with the sport and the atmosphere that would later inspire his artwork.

Lonato

Later, while studying hotel management, Terence moved to Verona for an internship. During this period, he spent a lot of time at the iconic karting circuit of Lonato, reconnecting with the atmosphere and emotion of the sport that had shaped him from a young age.

After returning to the Netherlands, he worked for over fifteen years in restaurants and hotels. Eventually, he made the decision to leave everything behind and move permanently to Italy, near Lake Garda, to live closer to his passion: karting.

The Passion

That passion is reflected in his artwork. Terence became one of the first contemporary artists focused on capturing drivers from the world of karting on canvas — preserving the moments, emotions, sacrifice and beginnings of a racing career. A lasting memory from the purest and most important category in motorsport: where it all began.
